JUDGING CRITERIA

For persons who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award CC’s in the breed and have completed their first appointment. To have the support of the Japanese Spitz Club.

A2 LIST
For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accept by the Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list. To have the support of the Japanese Spitz Club.

A3 LIST (BREED SPECIALIST)
1, Minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed and have the support of the Japanese Spitz Club.
2, To have judged at a Japanese Spitz Club Breed Club Open Show/s and/or Japanese Spitz Club supported entry show. With an adequate geographical spread.
3, To have judged a minimum of 25 classes.
4, To have judged a minimum of 80 dogs.
5, To have bred and/or owned a minimum of three dogs when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book. (Save in exceptional circumstances)

A3 LIST (NON SPECIALIST)
1, Minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed (to include 5 years in this breed) and have the support of the Japanese Spitz Club. (KC Policy)
2, To have judged at Japanese Spitz Breed Club Open Show/s and/or Japanese Spitz Breed supported entry show. With an adequate geographical spread.
3, To have judged a minimum of 25 classes in this breed
4, To have judged a minimum of 80 dogs in this breed.
5, To have awarded CC’s in at least one other breed . (KC Policy).
6, To have bred and/or owned a minimum of three dogs when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book. (Save in exceptional circumstances).

B LIST (BREED SPECIALIST)
1, A minimum of 6 years experience owning and exhibiting in the breed with a minimum of 5 years judging experience of the breed and have the support of the Japanese Spitz Club.
2, To have judged a minimum of 15 classes.
3, To have judged a minimum of 35 dogs.
4, To have attended a Breed specific seminars run in accordance with relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable.
5, To have attended a seminar given by Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on Requirements of a Dog Show judge. (KC Policy as of 1/07/2001)
6, To have attended a Seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement. (KC Policy as of 1/07/2001).
7, To have attended a Seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement “Hands on” and passed the assessment. (KC Policy as of 1?07/2005)
8, The have attended a Seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Stewarding (KC Policy)
9, To have stewarded at, at least 12 shows. (KC Policy)

B LIST (NON SPECIALIST)
1, Minimum of 5 years judging experience in this breed and have the support of the Japanese Spitz Club.
2, To have judged a minimum of 15 classes in this breed.
3, To have judged a minimum of 35 dogs in this breed.
4, To have attended a Breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable.
5, To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on Requirements of a Dog Show Judge. (KC Policy as of 1/07/2005)
6, To have attended a Seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement “Hands on” and passed the assessment. (KC Policy as of 1/07/2005)
8, To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Stewarding (KC Policy)
9, To have stewarded at, at least 12 shows. (KC Policy)

C LIST
For aspiring Judges who have shown an interest in the Breed and have the support of the Japanese Spitz Club.
Listings would normally include persons who have judged the Breed at Limited and Open shows but do not yet qualify for the B List.
Must of attended at least one Breed Specific Seminar run by the breed club.

TO JUDGE THE JAPANESE SPITZ CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
1, To have awarded Challenge Certificates to the Breed on a minimum of three previous occasions.
2, Not to have awarded Challenge Certificates at the Japanese Spitz Club’s Championship Show during the previous 10 years.
